Design and Consulting for ABLE

Earlier this year, I started working with ABLE, a new client and lifestyle company committed to helping people through the benefits of nutritional ketosis. I worked with them to provide design and consulting to help launch their new products and showcase their brand. I was thrilled to work with this startup company that grew from the vision of three friends, one of whom I have known since high school.

I really enjoyed working on a variety of pieces and providing input on various levels, such as:

Graphic design and packaging have been my primary focus for over a decade, but I also have experience with marketing and unique applications. I love working with new clients, especially wonderful ones like the ABLE team. 

We also got to collaborate with another friend of mine and talented photographer, Brette-Ashley, to capture their product photos and head shots. It's so great when I get to work with friends who also run their own business.

Jones AC Services Logo

In the fall of 2016, I had the pleasure of re-branding Jones Air Conditioning Services, located in Delray Beach, Florida. Jonathan Jones, is the owner and operator (and he is married to my beautiful cousin). He's also one of the hardest working, nicest guys you'll ever meet. I was thrilled when he asked me to work with him to give his company a makeover and boost his brand identity. 

After designing a new logo and establishing colors, I applied it to corresponding business cards, carbon copy invoice forms and a large magnetic sign for his vehicle.  

This was such a fun project for me because I got to research and strategize the field of air conditioning services, which is one that I have not worked with prior. I enjoy creating artwork for different applications, too. This is my third vehicle related design. Thinking about magnetic signs driving around Florida gives my heart a little flutter.

I also couldn't have asked for a better client - not just because he's family, either. I really like being able to help support a family owned and operated business.

It is such a compliment and an honor when I gain a new client from another client’s referral. Especially when it’s a new startup business in my hometown of Rochester, New York. I began working with the owner and creator of ExNatura Products earlier this year, to design a logo and packaging for the first in a new line of plant-based cosmetic products.

As a designer, I was excited to work on this project, because the beauty and cosmetic industry has always appealed to me. I'm also a makeup consumer and part of the target audience for this powerful new remover. I'm thrilled with the logo and packaging and I also helped select the bottle. The look communicates a product that is upscale, on-trend, pure, clean, effective and free from harmful ingredients.

Since web design with e-commerce isn’t currently within my wheelhouse, we teamed up with Matt D’Angelo, the creative force behind D’Angelo design. He provided strategy, creative direction, photography, web and social media design, to beautifully showcase and launch ExNatura into the marketplace.

Pocket Wedding Invitation

This summer, I designed an elegant pocket wedding invitation set for a sweet bride and groom. I went to high school with Tom and also designed his sister Nicole's wedding invitations a couple years ago. I was excited to design a pocket style invitation and see all the pieces come together. I ordered the pockets, envelopes and belly bands from CardsandPockets.com. Everything arrived as expected and the quality of the materials is really nice. I printed the inserts and initial seal locally. 

I mocked everything up during the design stage to present how the completed set would look. I really like the simplicity and elegance of this design. I also like Jesssica's choice of colors - slate gray, silver and fuchsia. So pretty! Matches my blog too. 

The happy couple wed yesterday! I got a sneak peek of their wedding photos (via FB of course).

Tricia's Personal Shopping Service Logo

My friend, Tricia, is in the process of starting her own personal shopping service business. Doesn't that sound like fun? That girl loves to shop! She asked me to design a logo and promotional materials to get her started. I was excited to help! Tricia offers grocery, gifts, lottery, wine and other retail shopping - so you don't have to. Just give her a call or send her an email and have them delivered right to you. What a great business idea.

We came up with a logo that reflects the variety of retail services as well as Tricia's fun and girly personality.

I really like how they turned out. I'm excited for Tricia and her new business. If you live in the area and could use her services, please contact her. I know she would love to shop for you!

Jamie and Dan's Wedding Invitation

I recently designed wedding invitations for my friend Jamie and her fiance Dan. Jamie and I met in high school and we've been friends ever since. She and I were actually biology lab partners - I had to do all the gross dissecting while she took the notes. I don't know why that memory stands out in my mind. Jamie is one of those people with a great big heart, who's always there to listen and talk. She and I usually find something to laugh about, even through life's tough moments. I'm so happy she's found her match. I'm not so happy that they're moving waaaaay down south after they get married.

They have such bright and cheery wedding colors - pomegranate and orange. Their wedding is in May, and I can't wait to see it come together. 

They chose with a 2-sided RSVP postcard. Cute and practical (and it saves on postage). 

My favorite part is receiving the invitation in the mail, tucked neatly in the colorful envelope, addressed to my husband and I. It's a double joy to be invited to a friend's wedding and get to create the invitation.

RAF Addy Awards

Thursday, I attended the Rochester Advertising Federation 2013 Addy Awards. Picture the Golden Globe's for advertising. A night of the city's talented creatives, under one roof, to celebrate the most outstanding advertising work of the year. A group from our Wegmans Marketing team attended - and actually got a great group photo! We missed those would couldn't be there.

The theme was inspiration. More than 300 pieces were submitted by agencies, photography studios, students and artists. It's not easy to win a coveted Addy, so receiving one is quite an honor. 

Upon entering the venue, Nicole and I had our photo taken in front of the inspiration chalkboard wall. I love that chalkboard art is all the rage right now.

Best of Show was awarded to the Xerox International Jazz Festival Campaign Posters by Roberts Communications. I remember admiring these when we went to the Jazz fest in June to see Diana Krall. 

Wegmans Menu Magazine was awarded a silver Addy for return on investment. Go Wegmans! 

And another silver for non-traditional advertising. There was so much amazing work represented by so many talented artists! I wouldn't have wanted to be a judge.

I had a great time mingling and celebrating. Half the fun is getting dressed up and having a night out with my peers - outside the office. Everyone looked so fancy!

Lynn and Peter's Wedding and Invitation

November. What?

It was just September, and we were attending Lynn and Pete's wedding. How exactly did two months slip by? Wow. 

Before I loose track of any more time, I want to share the wedding invitation set and save-the-date post card I designed for Lynn and Peter. My husband works with this adorable couple, and I don't know if it's possible to find two sweeter people. Lynn is simply adorable and we became instant friends. I was thrilled to work with them, as well as attend their September wedding. Lynn was looking for a love bird theme wedding invitation in her fall colors - red, gold, and green. I love the sweet simplicity.
