Red White and Blue Wedding Stationary

When I design wedding invitations, they're usually done months and months in advance (which is wise, of course, when planning a wedding). I love that I get to be part of the "insider" planning stage and work behind the scenes to help set the tone for such a special day. BUT, that means that I have to wait months and months to see how everything comes together at the actual event. I really look forward to seeing photos of the wedding ceremony, the venue and of course the bride and groom!

I couldn't wait to see Anderson and Collin's wedding pictures and see their dream realized, after having just a small glimpse through their invitations. And I've never even met them in person! My heart skipped a beat when I saw their images, captured by the incredibly talented Michal-Kathryn Photography. I can't thank her enough for recommending me to the happy couple, and for graciously allowing me to share a few of the photos.

It was so much fun designing an all American wedding themed invitation set. A combination of red, white, and blue, lace, political/ballot style and rustic barn wedding, all rolled into one. My kind of project!

They also requested campaign buttons to hand out at the reception, which was a really fun piece to design. How cute are these?!

Such a beautiful couple and wedding party! Congratulations Anderson and Collin! It was a pleasure working with you.

Hope Hall Gala Invitation Suite

In 2016, I started working with a new client, Hope Hall School. I designed the invitation suite for their yearly fundraising "Toast for Hope" gala.

The pieces included:
Save the date postcard (2-sided)
Invitation (2-sided) with printed envelope
Response card (2-sided) with printed envelope
Program booklet (10 page, 2-sided)

The theme was prom night, including a disco ball and silver glitter, also incorporating their corporate color, teal. Such a fun project!

There was quite a bit of content included on both the invitation and the response card, which is why they were each 2-sided. I really enjoyed organizing all of the information and working to create a unified style.

The program booklet took some creative formatting and organization as well, because there were a total of 20 pages to design (10 pages front and back), including adds, sponsors, auction items, schedule of events, board members, and more. I enjoyed getting to design a booklet like this and challenging my layout skills.

I'm so pleased with how all the pieces turned out! The client was very happy, too, which is the most important. Hope Hall School was wonderful to work with and I look forward to working with them again.

Autumn Leaves Wedding Invitation Set

My friend and former co-worker got married last weekend, on a beautiful fall day, with a fall themed wedding and invitations to match. I was honored that Terry asked me to design her invitations. When she sent me her beautiful (and very organized) mood board/PowerPoint Presentation, I knew we would work well together!
I really like that they wanted to incorporate fall colors and autumn leaves, which printed beautifully on ivory paper. I also designed their ceremony program, place cards and custom chocolate bar wrapper.

The chocolate bar wrapper, in the theme "Love is Sweet", complete with true love ingredients and nutrition facts on the back, was simply adorable. And fun to work on!

Using traditional and elegant fonts, with a few playful embellishments, creates a modern yet timeless style.

I caught a glimpse of their wedding cake on Facebook, which happens to be from one of my favorite bakeries, and I totally swooned over it. Isn't it gorgeous?! I love the leaves and flowers and the natural fall feel it has. And I'm certain it tasted as good as it looks! It completely compliments their theme. If you're craving some gorgeous desserts Scratch Bakery is where it's at. They also have gluten free cupcakes and French macarons which are amazing. Becuase I want to eat all the macarons.

Congratulations, Terry and Ryan! Thank you so much for including me in the details of your special day.

I Like Gold...Invitations

I had the fun and privilege of designing a wedding invitation suite, using gold foil printing, for a couple in Texas. The sister of the bride contacted me three years ago, via my Etsy shop, to design her wedding invitations, so I was thrilled when I was contacted again. The wedding is today - happy wedding day!

We started with a save the date earlier this year. The requested style and colors were hot pink and gold with a "love always" theme. Such a fun combination to work with! I incorporated a whimsical script font, a watercolor background and heart, with gold dots and a playful arrangement of wedding details.

To correspond with the save the date, I designed an invitation, RSVP card, thank you card, and favor tags. (The above photos were wrapped in plastic, ready for shipping, which is why they appear so glossy)

This (unwrapped) thank you card really shows the sheen of the metallic gold foil. I love it!

This project was one of the most exciting and challenging wedding invitations I've worked on. Thankfully, I have a skilled and very patient printer, who worked with me every step of the way, to get it perfect - even when we had to make multiple adjustments (more times than I'd like to admit!). The complexity of printing with gold foil, is having to set up multiple files for each piece. The example above shows the separate layers required to print gold foil with traditional ink. The intended finished product composite (left), the regular ink (center), and the gold foil (right). The type has to match up perfectly and be thick enough to avoid any gaps in the overlay.

The end result is beautiful, and worth the close attention to detail and the additional cost involved in achieving such an elevated look. Now that I've achieved success printing with gold foil, it's not as daunting as it used to be and I look forward to working with it again.

Congratulations to the bride and groom!

Danielle & Trevor's Guestbook & Table Signs

My beautiful cousin, Danielle, and her husband, Trevor, got married this past June. It was a picture perfect day in Geneva, NY, and we got to celebrate with family that we don't see as often as we'd like.

Aren't they an adorable couple?

Their wedding colors were periwinkle, light purple, pearl and silver. So pretty!

I was so happy to design their guest book, signs and table numbers. I really like creating those special little details for weddings.

Danielle's idea for the guestbook, was to make it a calendar "record" of birthdays and anniversaries, that each guest would sign on the appropriate date(s). What a fun and useful keepsake!

Maybe a bride and groom already have invitations picked out, but need additional signs and accents that will complete their big day. I'm always happy to design corresponding pieces that will tie everything together. Favor tags, ceremony programs, table signs, gift boxes - anything you can dream up that needs a special look

Kassidy and Nick's Wedding Invitaion

I had the privilege of designing a classy and elegant wedding invitation set for a very sweet couple, Kassidy and Nick, who are part of a family that is near and dear to my heart. I grew up with Kassidy's older sister's, Kara and Kailey, and actually remember Kassidy as a cute little toddler! I was thrilled when they asked me to design their wedding invitation set and table numbers. I used two of my favorite fonts and kept it simple (plus there was a lot of information to include). The bride wanted it to be "classy and nice" but without a lot of frills. Simple elegance.

What a gorgeous bride! The photos of their wedding are beautiful, taken by my talented photographer friend, Rachel. To see more of their wedding photos and view Rachel's amazing work, visit rachelannphotography.com or click here

The wedding looked so romantic with pink and gold, pearls and lace, candy, sweets and personalized elements. What's even more evident is the love that Nick and Kassidy have for the Lord and for each other.

Congratulations you two! May God richly bless your new life together as a married couple! I'm blessed contribute this piece of your special day.

Beach Wedding Invitation

I had the honor of designing my cousin Marsha's wedding invitations. She and her husband, Jonathan, got married on the beach in Florida. They asked for a seaside themed invitation with a natural and organic feel to reflect their special day. Almost as if the invitation had been kissed by the ocean and left in the sun to dry.

Here's how they looked, printed on ivory paper. It was really fun to use a watercolor texture and nautical elements - especially a pair of lobsters, which were Marsha's special request.

What a beautiful couple! I wish we could have been there to celebrate with them. It looked like an absolutely beautiful day.

Isn't Marsha a stunning bride? I just love her rosette headpiece veil. The new Mr. and Mrs. Jones are approaching their 2 month anniversary. Congratulations! Thank you for letting me share a small part of your wedding. Love you!

Pocket Wedding Invitation

This summer, I designed an elegant pocket wedding invitation set for a sweet bride and groom. I went to high school with Tom and also designed his sister Nicole's wedding invitations a couple years ago. I was excited to design a pocket style invitation and see all the pieces come together. I ordered the pockets, envelopes and belly bands from CardsandPockets.com. Everything arrived as expected and the quality of the materials is really nice. I printed the inserts and initial seal locally.

I mocked everything up during the design stage to present how the completed set would look. I really like the simplicity and elegance of this design. I also like Jesssica's choice of colors - slate gray, silver and fuchsia. So pretty! Matches my blog too.

The happy couple wed yesterday! I got a sneak peek of their wedding photos (via FB of course).

How cute are they? Stunning. (This is one of Jessica's photos)

Beautiful new sisters, Jessica and Nicole. (Another one of Jessica's photos)

Congratulations to the new Mr. and Mrs. Resser! May God bless your marriage and new life together. Thank you for allowing me to design your invitations!
