Birthday Sunday

It's my birthday! Today is the last time I will turn twenty-something. Hard to believe. This was me at 4 1/2, back in '86. Look at that grin. Double chin an all. The bird on my dress has a string/worm connected to a pocket. In case you were wondering. Thanks for dressing me so cute Mom!

Last night, Jen and I celebrated our March birthdays at P.F. Chang's with our wonderful husbands. We had some delicious food and two complimentary birthday desserts - with candles!

Today, the first day of Spring, these golden crocus showed up, right on time! 

My birthday celebration continued at one of my favorite restaurants, Simply Crepes. Last year, Andrew took me to the location in Canandaigua for my birthday. This year, we went to the one in Pittsford.

The place was packed, as usual, and the aroma of crepes, pancakes and coffee filled the air.

I decided to be adventurous and try a new dish, instead of my usual fruit crepe. I had the Pommes Brie Crepe, which consisted of sliced ham, brie cheese, caramelized onion, fresh tomatoes, apple butter rolled into a warm crêpe with fresh apples on top. A unique combination of flavors. I especially liked the apple butter with the ham, which was surprising. I like trying new things. Especially since I'm a member of their birthday club, and they send me a card for a free entree every year! I highly recommend joining.

After lunch, we took a stroll along the canal. The sun was shining and it was a little brisk. It felt great to be outside. 

And then I got pooped on by a bird flying overhead. Yup. Is that good luck on your birthday? What a gross surprise. But it gave us a good laugh!

Back at home, my husband set to work, baking me a cake. In a muscle shirt. What's hotter than that? My family will be coming over later to enjoy cake and ice cream. Can't wait! 

This beautiful little bouquet, from my co-worker Nicole, is the perfect centerpiece on my table right now. I just love flowers! 

So far, it has been a wonderful birthday weekend! I am so blessed by the family and friends in my life. I'm thankful for another birthday and I'm looking forward to what this year holds for me!
