Emma's Ice Skating Party Invitation

I'm looking forward to my nice Emma's ice skating birthday party this afternoon. I can't believe she is turning 10 this month! Her birthday is December 27th, but it tends to get squished into Christmas celebrations, along with some of her cousins birthdays. I'm glad that today is her own special day to have fun on the ice with some of her friends.

When I found out Emma was having a party, I asked my sister if I could design the invitation. This was the perfect opportunity to use one of the photos I took of her in a mini photoshoot when I curled her hair. Emma had some specific requests for the design. It needed to be green and purple, with polka dots, and purple ice skates. A girl who knows what she wants! How did I do?

Lisa put together adorable favor bags with goodies in a winter theme, including a packet of hot chocolate. I had the idea to put a custom label on the hot chocolate packets, thanking guests for coming. Aren't they adorable?

I really like ice skating, but only go about once a year. Which is why I continue to wear my Mom's white figure skates from the 1960's. With yellow shoelaces. We'll see how they hold up today. I pretty much just love to spin in circles and pretend I'm an Olympic skater in my heart.

I'll try to take some photos of everyone on the ice. For now, I'll leave you with a photo of Emma, giving me her "model" face. She is quite the comedian!
