Wine Tasting

What sounds better on a Friday afternoon than driving to the Finger Lakes for a little wine tasting? That's just what we did when Marilyn and Denny came to visit us for Mother's Day weekend.

We started the day with brunch at Simply Crepes in Canandaigua, NY. My absolute favorite spot.

Then we headed to Three Brothers Winery, in Geneva, NY. They have three wineries and a microbrewery on the estate, each with it's own unique varieties and personalities.

We learned a lot about grapes, harvesting and even got a tour of the wine cellar.

We had a lot of fun sampling and taking in the scenery.

Next, we drove to Belhurst Castle, on Seneca Lake to try some of their wines. Andrew and I went to Belhurst for our second wedding anniversary. It's a beautiful place for dinner or a weekend. I can't believe we're coming up on our eighth anniversary in a couple months!

My sweet and still in love in-laws, who recently celebrated their 36th wedding anniversary. They really are a fun pair.

It turned out to be a beautiful afternoon. The Finger Lakes region has so much to offer if you're interested in wine and you're looking for something different to do.

  1. Hey Sarah,

We also love Simply Crepes and you would be interested in knowing that the same owners of that restaurant own Simply Crepes here in Raleigh. It's decorated the same and has the same delicious food. Went there a couple of weeks ago after church. Was told by the server that the owners were going to visit in a couple of weeks and have a Rochester day at their restaurant here serving local favorites from Rochester! Love reading your blog.

    Love ya,
    Diane Dupre
